frequently asked questions
We’re here to answer your questions.
We believe transparency matters, in both our research and in how we operate. Find answers to the most common questions about CBHP below.
What kind of organisations do you work with?
CBHP works with international universities, bioethics institutes, research consortia, policy bodies, healthcare organisations, and companies. While much of our work sits within the bioethics, health policy, and health technology landscape, we frequently collaborate across the social and life sciences where complex ethical questions arise. Our interdisciplinary approach allows us to contribute bioethical expertise and qualitative research to projects addressing emerging challenges in health, technology, and society.
What services does CBHP offer?
CBHP provides applied bioethics research and qualitative research services, including stakeholder interviews and thematic analysis, focus groups, ethical and ELSI analysis, policy and regulatory mapping, stakeholder engagement and public dialogue, ethical impact assessments, and consensus-building processes such as Delphi panels and workshops.
How do I commission a research project?
You can contact us through our website or email enquiries@centerforbioethics.co.uk with a short description of your project or research needs. We will review the request, discuss the scope of the work with you, and provide a proposal outlining the research approach, timeline, and costs.
Do you work on sensitive or emerging topics?
Yes. Much of our work focuses on complex and emerging areas such as reproductive technologies, neurotechnology, digital health, genomics, and AI in healthcare. We approach these topics with rigorous ethical analysis and trauma-informed research practices.
Are your researchers independent?
Yes. CBHP operates as an independent research institute. Our research is conducted according to clear methodological and ethical standards, and we maintain transparency about funding sources and collaborations.
Can you work to tight deadlines?
Yes. Our organisational structure allow us to respond quickly to project needs while maintaining rigorous research standards.
How is CBHP funded?
CBHP operates through a combination of commissioned research projects, participation in research consortia, philanthropic support, and grant-funded research programmes. This diversified funding model enables us to maintain both research independence and long-term sustainability.
Is CBHP a charity?
No. The Center for Bioethics and Health Policy is an independent research institute organised as a private limited company in the United Kingdom (Company No. 16576206). This structure enables us to undertake commissioned research projects, participate in international research consortia, and develop independent research programmes.
